The U.S. and EU have urged China to address human rights abuses in Uyghur region , particularly concerning the treatment of Uyghurs. During a U.N. Human Rights Council session in Geneva, U.S. Ambassador Michèle Taylor called for China to implement U.N. recommendations, release detainees, and clarify the whereabouts of missing individuals. The EU also raised concerns over political re-education camps, forced labor, and other violations. China dismissed these claims, with support from allies, labeling them interference in its internal affairs.
