Palestinian Authority continues to support China’s Uyghur genocide at UN 2024 UPR

In 2023, during President Mahmoud Abbas’s visit to Beijing, the Palestinian Authority endorsed China’s genocidal policy against the Uyghurs. Abbas and Xi Jinping issued a joint statement endorsing Beijing’s domestic and foreign policies.

At the UN 2024 Universal Periodic Review (UPR) for China, the Palestinian Authority does it again (at 2:24:55 min). The following is the transcript of the speech by the Palestinian delegation at the UN 2024 Universal Periodic Review (UPR) for China:

“Thank you, Mr President.

We welcome the delegation from China and thank them for the presentation on the latest developments regarding the human rights situation in the country and [re]commend their efforts to promote and protect human rights.

In the constructive spirit, we recommend the following:

-Continue the efforts and take measures to improve healthcare services to guarantee the rights, good quality, and affordable healthcare to all persons, including marginalized individuals.

-Continued efforts to ensure equal access to education in urban and rural areas.

-Continue to strengthen participation in the global human international right governance system and [strengthen] mutual learning on human rights views and practices.

We wish China a successful review. Thank you.”
