Chinese FM: Bachelet can visit ‘Xinjiang’, but no investigation allowed

United Nations human rights chief, Michelle Bachelet, can visit ‘Xinjiang’, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday. China, however, does not welcome any investigation based on the presumption of guilt, Wang continued (Reuters).

 

Foreign governments and international human rights organizations have long accused China of widescale abuses against Uyghurs and other ethnic groups, including torture, forced labor, and detention of several million Uyghurs in internment camps.
