New biography reveals Elon Musk’s stance on China’s repression of Uyghurs

In a newly released biography, Elon Musk, the CEO of social media platform X (former Twitter), argues that there are ‘two sides’ to China’s repression of the Uyghurs, according to a new book written by Walter Isaacson.

Journalist Bari Weiss questioned Musk whether “Tesla’s business interests in China might affect the way he managed Twitter.” The billionaire replied that “Twitter would indeed have to be careful about the words it used about China because Tesla’s business could be threatened.”

Musk previously caused controversy by opening a Tesla showroom in Xianjing, where Uyghurs are arbitrarily locked up in modern-day concentration camps and used as forced labor.
