China has been taking advantage of the loopholes of law enforcement in the U.S on almost all areas, from trade to technology, from academia to the military. Fentanyl in the form of a highly lethal, synthetic opioid that’s been making its way through the U.S. over the last decade. The largest source of this illicit drug in China. Ben Westhoff decided to see firsthand how these drugs are being made.
According to U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Pharmaceutical fentanyl is a synthetic opioid pain reliever, approved for treating severe pain, typically advanced cancer pain.1 It is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine. However, most recent cases of fentanyl-related harm, overdose, and death in the U.S. are linked to illegally made fentanyl.2 It is sold through illegal drug markets for its heroin-like effect. It is often mixed with heroin and/or cocaine as a combination product—with or without the user’s knowledge—to increase its euphoric effects.
But the largest source of illicit fentanyl is China.
Ben Westhoff, an investigative journalist and author of “Fentanyl Inc.: How Rogue Chemists are Creating the Deadliest Wave of the Opioid Epidemic,” had made an incredible job to expose how these drugs are being made.
“I went deep and tried to learn everything I could about this problem, and that brought me to China,” he said. “I went undercover into a pair of Chinese drug operations, including, I went into a fentanyl lab outside Shanghai. And I was pretending to be a drug dealer.”
He continued: “What I learned was that these companies making fentanyl and other dangerous drugs are subsidized by the government. And so when they work in these suburban office parks, for example, the building, the costs for research and development, they have these development zones, they get export tax breaks.”
Now it was clear that China has been subsidizing drug companies to poison the next generation of Americans.
Do American people deserve to know if there are any other ways that China has been doing to harm American lives over the years?if so what must we do to stop it?
First of all, we need to strengthen law enforcement and make all efforts to protect American people.
We also need to educate American people about the real intention and strategy of China’s government against America and American people. because China has already started it’s long term covert war against the U.S despite its claims it seeks peaceful and diplomatic ways for all bilateral issues.
