David Kilgour, a former Canadian MP known for his dedication to human rights, dies at 81, CBC reports.
Kilgour suffered from a rare lung disease that progressed quickly over the past month, his wife, Laura Scott Kilgour, said.
Kilgour was a firm advocate against Chinese organ harvesting. Together with David Mattas, Kilgour authored a book titled Bloody Harvest: Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China. Later the two teamed up with Ethan Gutmann, the author of ‘The Slaughter: Mass Killings, Organ Harvesting, and China’s Secret Solution to Its Dissident Problem’.
Kilgour’s family said he communicated with his friends and activist colleagues until the last days before his death.
