5th East Turkistan National Unity Council begins in Istanbul on October 1

The Fifth East Turkistan National Unity Council Meeting and the 14th World East Turkistan Brotherhood Meeting are taking place in Istanbul from from October 1st to 4th.

Hidayatullah Oghuzhan, the President of the International Association of Eastern Turkistan Organizations reported on this year’s meeting and national unity council. The meeting attracted hundreds of Uyghur activists and religious leaders, the representatives of East Turkestan organizations, public figures and academics.

Hidayetullah Oğuzhan told Istiqla Haber, an Istanbul-based online media organization, that the meeting is to discuss the East
Turkistan case in the current changing world, its existing situation and a new policy, Turkic countries, changes in the West and the Middle East, Asian countries policy and East Turkistan’s opportunities and threats,  national conflict and points that should be strengthened in the international arena such as red lines and immutable principles, national existence and national cultural struggle.

This year’s fraternity meeting and East Turkistan National Unity Shura will begin with a large-scale demonstration in front of the Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul on October 1 and end on October 4..
