On March 31, 2022, The Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP) and the Uyghur American Association hosted an event in appreciation of US and European politicians, government, and community representatives that have for years supported the Uyghurs in the United States and Europe, Uyghur Times Uyghur edition reports.

More than one hundred guests from fields of diplomacy, patronage, legislation, research, and the media attended the reception, among whom were German researcher Adrian Zenz and UK politician Nusrat Ghani.

Mr. Omer Kanat, the Executive Director of UHRP, told the Uyghur Times that the two organizations had been preparing for the event for more than four months. “We wanted to thank these people for their time, attention, and financial support to the Uyghurs,” Mr. Kanat said.

Distinguished guests who spoke at the event unanimously stated that it is the duty of all to help the Uyghurs: To stop the genocide of the Uyghurs and to ensure their right to live as human beings.

The guests received a copy of Sean Roberts’ book “War Against the Uyghurs”, and Uyghur food came from Dolan Uyghur Restaurant.

Mr. Nury Turkel told the Uyghur Times that the event conveys an important signal to China that relations between the Uyghurs and the United States are deepening.
