China announced that it has taken countermeasures against 12 U.S. companies involved in the military-industrial complex and their senior executives. This is in response to the U.S. arming of Taiwan and sanctions imposed on Chinese companies.
The countermeasures include freezing the companies’ assets in China and banning their senior executives from entering the country, effective immediately.
China accused the U.S. of “indiscriminately imposing unlawful unilateral sanctions” on Chinese entities under the pretext of Russia-related factors, ignoring an “objective and impartial position” on the Ukraine crisis.
Additionally, China stated that the U.S. continuing arms sales to Taiwan “seriously violates” the one-China principle and joint communiques, undermining China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The 12 targeted companies include units of major U.S. defense contractors like Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and General Dynamics.
