Washington, D.C. — Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has placed a hold on the nomination of Nicholas Burns, President Joe Biden’s pick to be the U.S. ambassador to China.
Burns emphasizes the need for the United States to challenge, compete with and cooperate with the Chinese Communist Party. He has a long career in public service, but it is a career defined by the failure to understand the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party”, Rubio said of Mr. Burns.
“Burns is the type of nominee I expect from President Biden, given this administration’s weak approach toward China, including lobbying against my bipartisan Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act“, Rubio added.
