A live-streamed event titled “Countering the Chinese Communist Party’s Genocide on the Uyghurs” was held in Washington DC on March 14th, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) announces on its website.
The speakers included Dolkun Isa, President of the World Uyghur Congress, Damon Wilson, the president and chief executive officer of the National Endowment for Democracy, and Kelley Currie, who served as the U.S. Representative at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
The occasion also served as a launching event for Dolkun Isa’s new book, The China Freedom Trap, published by Optimum Publishing International, which chronicles his life story advocating for the Uyghurs.
Josh Rogin, an acclaimed Washington Post columnist, acted as the event moderator.
