Canada’s ethics watchdog is investigating claims that Nike Canada and a gold mining company profited from the use of forced labor by Uyghurs in their operations in China.
The investigations by the ethics watchdog were initiated following complaints filed by a coalition of human rights organizations.
Nike has stated that they no longer have any connections with the companies accused of employing Uyghur forced labor.
Dynasty Gold, on the other hand, claims that these allegations surfaced after they had already ceased their operations in the region.
