Dr. Olsi Jazexhi: did he expose concentration camps or “vocational training centers”?

by Abdurehim Gheni Uyghur

Dr. Olsi Jazexhi is a Canadian-Albanian historian who is specialized in the history of Islam, nationalism and he is a university lecturer. He was one of the reporters on the pre-arranged “visit” in East Turkistan (a.k.a. Xinjiang) arranged by China to tell the world via these reporters that concentration camps are just false propaganda by the U.S.-led Western powers.

However, after his visit, what he witnessed was completely opposite and he exposed that these so-called “reeducation camps” are actually prison-like camps aiming at mass detention of innocent Uyghurs for only exercising normal practices of their faith. Testimonies about these concentration camps from Dr. Olsi Jazexhi played a significant role in disclosing false propaganda of China about these camps.

More importantly, he has been expressing that he would never be intimidated and never be stopped exposing Uyghur genocide to the world. Alarmed by his righteous act aiming to expose China’s brutality, China’s Government dismissed him, as always to anyone against China, from his job at university by using the relationship with the Albanian government and principles of the university where he had worked. Later, school principals admitted that there were no other reasons for his layoff.

The genocide faced by Uyghurs is far beyond national borders, religious backgrounds, and cultural differences. So, if anyone who has just little dignity and human sense, supporting Uyghurs and stopping this unprecedented crime would be their duty.
