New Zealand Mosque Shooter’s Manifesto Apparently Posted Online, Admires Communist China

Brenton Tarrant, who is accused of shooting 49 people in Christchurch, New Zealand, wrote on his manifesto: “The nation with the closest political and social values to my own is the People’s Republic of China.” He also wrote that “China is set to be the world’s most dominant nation in this century,” adding that it’s because the country is “lacking diversity.” Apparently, this terrorist is praising the Chinese Regime for its ethnic cleansing of millions of Uighurs and other Turkic Muslims in East Turkistan.

Beijing’s white paper defends its crackdown in East Turkistan

In its lengthy policy paper again defending Beijing’s controversial “deradicalisation” measures, Chinese regime claimed that it has arrested 13,000 ‘terrorists’ in Xinjiang (i.e. Occupied East Turkistan) since 2014.

The World Uyghur Congress swiftly denounced the white paper. “Counter-terrorism is a political excuse to suppress the Uighurs. The real aim of the so-called de-radicalisation is to eliminate faith and thoroughly carry out Sinification”, spokesman Dilxat Raxit said in an emailed statement.

Uyghur Detainees from Xinjiang ‘Placed in Nearly Every Prison’ in Shandong Province

In October 2018, Radio Free Asia (RFA)’s Uyghur Service reported that authorities in the occupied East Turkistan had begun covertly sending detainees to prisons in Heilongjiang province and other parts of China to address an “overflow” in overcrowded camps, where up to 1.5 million Uyghurs and other Muslim ethnic minorities accused of harboring “strong religious views” and “politically incorrect” ideas have been held since April 2017. According to RFA’s latest investigations, Uighurs and other Muslim detainees from East Turkistan had also been sent to Shaanxi province and neighboring Gansu province, which has been confirmed by provincial prison officials.

Sweden grants refugee status to China’s Uighur Muslims, prompting calls for UK to follow suit

Sweden is to grant refugee status to all Uighur Muslim asylum-seekers from China, prompting calls for other Western governments to follow suit. The Swedish migration agency said all Uighur Muslim asylum-seekers in Sweden would be automatically considered at risk of persecution in Xinjiang province (i.e. occupied East Turkistan), where more than a million Uighurs have been detained in concentration camps in a crackdown on Islam.

Muslim countries urged to press China end crackdown of Uighurs

A group of visiting Uighur Muslim scholars originally from China’s Xinjiang province (i.e. occupied East Turkistan) has urged Muslim-majority countries to press China to end its “cultural war” against their ethnic compatriots. During a visit to Qatar’s capital, Doha, leaders from the Turkey-based Society of the Muslim Scholars of East Turkistan accused Beijing of engaging in systematic human rights violations of Uighurs in a bid to erase their cultural and religious heritage.
