Turgunjan Alawdun is the President of the World Uyghur Congress. He is the former Chair of the Religious Committee of the WUC and during the WUC’s 7th General Assembly, he was elected as a Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Uyghur Congress. He graduated from Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. He is an active member of the World Uyghur Congress since its establishment in 2004 and one of the co-founders of the organisation. He has led advocacy efforts in the Muslim-majority countries. He has been working to protect and support Uyghur refugees.
