Abdurrahim Imin (Parach), born in 1974 in Kashgar, East Turkistan, is a Uyghur writer, poet, and member of the Uyghur Post team. He studied Politics and History at Kashgar University. In 1997, he was arrested and sentenced to three years in prison on charges of “ethnic separatism,” and afterwards, he and his family were harassed by Chinese authorities. In 2013, he escaped to Turkey, leaving his family behind.
Parach’s literary career began in 1993 with the poem Advice in Tarim Ghunchili magazine. By 2000, more than 50 of his works had appeared in journals including Tengritagh, Krorän, and Turpan Literature. Threatened by Chinese authorities in 2001, he abandoned writing and destroyed nearly 2,000 works. After arriving in Turkey, he resumed his literary work.
He graduated from Erciyes University in 2023 with a dissertation on Kashgar’s Chinese comparative toponyms. His poetry collections Song Without a Homeland (2018) and Whispers of Longing (2019) were published in Turkey, and his poems have appeared in magazines such as Kumru and Güncel Sanat. He also writes on tragic events and personal experiences from his time in East Turkistan and has published linguistic research on the Kashgar dialect.
