Translation of a testimony from a Uyghur

Uyghur Times May 11, 2019

Uighur people in one of the concentration camps in East Turkistan (Xinjiang). This photo was originally published by the propaganda department of the Chinese government, but it was immediately deleted from their website after confronted with worldwide criticism.

Salam, my name is —        . In order to support the #metoouyghur movement, here I testify for my relatives who have been illegally detained by the Chinese government.

Memet Emet (uncle) was born on February 10 1971 and he is from Group 1, Village 8, Saghan Township, Yingisar County Qeshqer Prefecture. He was detained starting from 2016 Fall without any charges and sentenced for 10 years. Untill now, we do not know whether he is still alive or not. We do not know when and where he was trialed and why he was sentenced for 10 years.

Abdukhaliq Memet ( nephew) was born on April 10 1991 and he is from Group 1, Village 8, Saghan Township, Yingisar County Qeshqer Prefecture. He was detained starting from 2016 Fall without any charges and till now, we do not know whether he is still alive or not.

Qari Eziz (relative)  is from Group 1, Village 8, Saghan Township, Yingisar County Qeshqer Prefecture. He was detained starting from 2016 Fall without any charges and till now, we do not know whether he is still alive or not.

Abbas Qari Eziz (no picture) is from Group 1, Village 8, Saghan Township, Yingisar County Qeshqer Prefecture. He was detained starting from 2016 Fall without any charges and till now, we do not know whether he is still alive or not.

Musajan Qari (nephew) is from Group 6, Village 8, Saghan Township, Yingisar County Qeshqer Prefecture. He was detained starting from 2016 Fall without any charges and till now, we do not know whether he is still alive or not.

Jumehun Izaq (no picture) is from Group 1, Village 8, Saghan Township, Yingisar County Qeshqer Prefecture. He was detained starting from 2016 Fall without any charges and till now, we do not know whether he is still alive or not.

Abdukerim Qari (Nephew) is from Saghan Township, Yingisar County Qeshqer Prefecture. He was detained starting from 2016 Fall without any charges and till now, we do not know whether he is still alive or not.

As my relatives mentioned above, more than 1000 innocent people have been detained in four months from March 2016 to July 2016 from the Saghan township.

Here I testify that my relatives mentioned above are the victims of the brutal oppression such as ideological indoctrination, cultural assassination, depriving religious freedom, violating human rights, and ethnic discrimination carried out by the Chinese government. I sue the Chinese government to the international criminal court, international human rights court, United nations human rights council and any other human rights organization for its inhumane treatment of my relatives and I urge them to take action as soon as possible and hold the China accountable for their ongoing state terrorism. I urge the international community to help my relatives and reassure their rights of freedom. They have a right for their freedom as any other human beings.

Chinese government! Those people are not terrorists and they are not extremists they are just an ordinary peaceful human beings. China! You can not label Uyghurs as terrorist. Uyghurs are not terrorist and they will never be. For what reason did you deprive the freedom of my relatives? Why do you look them up and torture them inhumanely? Why those people suffer in the jails and camps? I need your answer? If they violated any rule, then why do not you trial them in public and show your evidences? If you can not do this, then you should free them right away! They are innocent!

“Vocational training” is a secret everybody knows. Why do you cut our contact for training them for more than two years? What kind of skill needs to be trained more than two years? Why do you cut our contacts with our relatives? Explain it to the world!
