Zeynure, the mother of three and the wife of Idris Hasan, an Uyghur activist who was detained in Morocco last month, held a brief protest in front of the Morocco Embassy in Ankara urging the Moroccan government to release her innocent husband. Zeynure posted about her protest with her three children holding the photos of her husband on Twitter.
Idris Hasan, a 34-year-old father of three, a computer designer, was arrested after flying into Morocco from Turkey last month and taken to a prison near the town of Tiflet. Hasan holds Chinese nationality and a Turkish residency permit. Idris Hasan has been living in Turkey since 2012, with his wife Zaynura and their three children. His wife and children have permanent residency permits in Turkey, but his residency permit is categorized as “humanitarian”.
International rights groups such as Amnesty International has been urging the Moroccan government not to deport Idris Hasan to China and “The Moroccan authorities must ensure Idris Hasan has immediate access to a lawyer, the ability to challenge any removal orders and allow his family to contact him to ensure his safety.”
