UN member states at the ongoing 48th UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session condemned China for its human rights abuses in the Uyghur homeland, Hong Kong and Tibet.

Delegates from Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, United States, and European Union, on behalf of 26 member states, expressed concerns over the overwhelming human rights record in Tibet, "Xinjiang" and Hong Kong.

On behalf of the 26 member states and the European Union, France reiterated calls on China to comply with obligations under national and international law to respect human rights, including the rights belonging to minorities, especially in Tibet, Uyghur homeland, and in Inner Mongolia.

China's economic exploitation, institutional racism, and rising destruction of cultural legacy against Uyghurs and Tibetans were harshly condemned by the United States.

Pakistan, the Muslim ally of China against India, delivered a joint statement supporting China's human rights record and condemning the west for "interference in China's internal affairs under the pretext of human rights" at the 48th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

The joint statement says, "Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Tibet related issues are China's internal affairs that brook no interference by any external forces and emphasizes "that the 65 countries oppose the politicization of human rights and double standards."

The Global Times, the Chinese nationalist propaganda outlet, said, "All together, nearly 100 countries expressed their understanding and support for China's legitimate position." However, even after adding 20 countries that voiced support for the statement read by the Pakistan delegation, the total would be 85.

While international condemnation of China grew, Chinese officials continued to increase their human rights record propaganda before the United Nations.

Sep29, The Chinese mission to the UN and the Xinjiang regime held a joint propaganda event called "Xinjiang is a Wonderful Land," describing the landscape and development in the region.
