Mayor Anne Hidalgo: Paris illuminates Town Hall in blue and white in support of Uyghurs

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has said that Paris Town Hall will be illuminated in Uyghur colors (blue and white) on November 12th in support of persecuted Uyghurs, several French news outlets have reported.

The French have long been strong advocates for Uyghurs. More than 2,000 people gathered in support of Uyghurs in Paris on October 2nd. Demonstrations against the Uyghur genocide took place simultaneously in several French locations. 

Raphael Glucksmann, a member of the EU Parliament and the European depute of Place Publique, and Dilnur Reyhan, President of the Uyghur Institute of Europe have both regularly appeared in mainline French media in support of Uyghurs.
