George Washington University Offers Online Chaghatay Course for Summer 2025

The Sigur Center for Asian Studies at George Washington University has announced an online non-credit course on Chaghatay for Summer 2025. Chaghatay, a Central Asian literary language, is recognized as the historical ancestor of modern Uyghur and Uzbek.

The course, titled Introduction to Chaghatay, consists of 12 sessions held on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 6:15 PM ET. The total fee is $280. Organized under the university’s Uyghur Studies Initiative, the program aims to support the study and preservation of Turkic literary heritage.
