Uyghur poet Ablet Abdureshit Berqi has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Uyghur poet Ablet Abdureshit Berqi has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. The poet’s “crimes” include: remarks endangering national security while teaching at the Xinjiang Institute of Education, and records of studying in Israel during 2014-2016. The place of detention is Tumshuq City Prison.
